Sometimes we want to stall to gain time or we simply want to rephrase something because we don’t have the word we were looking for.
Let’s look at common fillers.
Classic fillers include:
hmmm…
well…
You know.
let’s see…
I mean…
When you don’t have the exact word you can say things like:
it is sort of a…
it’s kind of a…
it’s like…
And finally to rephrase you can use the following sentences:
what I am trying to say…
what i really mean…
hmm let me start again…
